Garuda Indonesia to Introduce Jakarta - Nagoya Service in April 2015

JAKARTA, Sept 11, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Garuda Indonesia will introduce Jakarta - Nagoya route in April 2015, to meet market demand and broaden its flight network in Japan. Jakarta - Nagoya service is also part of the airline's "network" expansion program, especially in the international sector to and from Indonesia and Japan.
President & CEO Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar said that reopening the Nagoya route was a strategy to expand the Garuda network to Japan and beyond. "Japan is very important to Garuda Indonesia. For more than 50 years, Garuda Indonesia has shown its support towards the diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Japan - especially in increasing economic, tourism and social activities between the two countries," added Emir.
Emir was stating this when welcoming the Governor of Aichi Prefecture Japan Ohmura Hideaki in in Jakarta Monday evening (8/9). In addition to discussing the plan of resuming flights Jakarta - Nagoya, the visit also discussed the development of a strategic partnership between Garuda Indonesia and Aichi Prefecture and associated business commitment to local corporate accounts, to the development of tourism potential between the two sides.
Japan is an important market for Garuda Indonesia, specifically the province of Aichi prefecture which is known as a center for the automotive and aviation industry in Japan and for its beautiful scenery. "Aichi Prefecture and Japan is a market with huge potential particularly business and leisure passengers. Hopefully this cooperation will further strengthen the good relations between the two countries, in terms of improving economic relations, trade and tourism between the two countries," Emir added.
Jakarta - Nagoya route will be served by Airbus A330-200 which has capacity of 222 with 36 business class and 186 economy class and Garuda plan to fly 5 times a week.
Garuda Indonesia currently serves 39 weekly flights to Japan, including the Jakarta - Osaka (Kansai), Denpasar - Osaka (Kansai), Jakarta - Tokyo (Narita), Denpasar - Tokyo (Narita), Denpasar - Tokyo (Haneda), and Jakarta - Tokyo (Haneda).
Garuda Indonesia also has an established codeshare agreement with ANA-All Nippon Airways, through the codeshare agreement, Garuda Indonesia passengers will be able to fly with ANA to various large cities in Japan, such as Fukuoka, Saporro and Okinawa.
Connections to the United States can also be made through codeshare with Delta Airlines Codeshare. The flights will be conveniently timed to connect Garuda Indonesia's flights between Jakarta and Tokyo - Haneda, offering both airlines' customers one-stop travel between Indonesia and the U.S.
